President Donald Trump announced Sunday that his administration intends to place additional tariffs on goods imported to the US from China

In two tweets, Trump said $325 billion of Chinese goods will be taxed"shortly" at a rate of 25%. He also said the existing 10% tariff placed last year on $200 billion of goods will be increased on Friday to 25%. "These payments are partially responsible for our great economic results," he said of the tariffs, adding that they"have had little impact on product cost, mostly borne by China.
