Governor Bill Weld accused President Trump of 'treason' over his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on 'Morning Joe.'
Republican presidential challenger Bill Weld has labeled President Donald Trump's recent Ukraine call an act of"treason" and noted the penalty for treason is death.
Weld made his comments on Monday as the president and his attorney Rudy Giuliani have been accused ofTrump's Call With Ukrainian President Dubbed 'Diplomatic Disaster' for KievTrump has now confirmed he raised the topic of Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden during the July phone call with Zelensky after theon Saturday that he told the Ukrainian president to work with Giuliani on an investigation into the Bidens"about eight times.
"Talk about pressuring a foreign country to interfere with, and control, a U.S. election. It couldn't be clearer, and that's not just undermining democratic institutions, that is treason. It's treason, pure and simple. And the penalty for treason, under the U.S. Code, is death.
