The Trump administration moved Wednesday to repair the U.S.-Turkish relationship amid deepening strains, congressional criticism and reports of continued skirmishing in northeast Syria weeks after a U.S.-negotiated truce took effect.
President Trump said in a Twitter message that he had spoken Wednesday by phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and added the two would meet in Washington on Nov. 13, in keeping with earlier plans.
