US President Donald Trump has confirmed he will not take part in impeachment hearings this week.
White House lawyers formally notified the Judiciary Committee President Trump was not willing to play a role in Wednesday's proceedings.
The decision indicated that he is listening to his allies, who warned him taking part would validate the process. Meanwhile, Trump's trade war is growing after he announced he is imposing new tariffs on Brazil and Argentina.
