Australia currently has no regulations on AI, but that’s about to change.
Australians would be arming the Federal Govt to 'reshape reality' by giving it the unfettered ability to regulate artificial intelligence
And AI is fast becoming the operating system for society, powering everything from health and finance to transportation and communication.Controlling the algorithms means controlling outcomes, and that influence will reach every part of our AI-driven world.Australians' distrust in government is at an all-time high, and rightly so.If those in power don’t have your back, they’re against you.
Now, AI does it for them—faster, better, and with far greater accuracy. Increased government control over AI won’t just police what you say; it’ll predict what you might say, think, or, worse, feel. Under President Javier Milei, the Argentine government recently established the Artificial Intelligence Applied to Security Unit—a specialised task force designed to predict and prevent future crimes.
While officials tout these advancements as tools for protecting the public, critics argue that these measures achieve safety at the cost of liberty.
