The tabloid insisted the actor wanted to “flee Tinseltown for a laid-back life.” Since the bogus article was published, Affleck starred in the Netlfix movie, and has another seven films in various stages of production. Two of those projects are done shooting and will be released in 2020. Meanwhile, Affleck still lives in Los Angeles.
There have been many other stars who were allegedly “quitting Hollywood,” according to the tabloids. In the past few years,has corrected similar stories involving Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Edward Norton, Morgan Freeman, Michael Fassbender and Mila Kunis, just to name a few. This ongoing narrative never seems to pan out.
