When oxygen levels in the tissues start to drop, the body’s natural healing process enters a slow decline which leads to damaged tissues, decreased tissue function, slow healing of wounds, dry skin, fatigue, wrinkles and a variety of other symptoms related to ageing.

The supplemented oxygen delivered under pressure during HbOT sessions can reach deep to the cellular level in order to help promote circulation, stem-cell growth, reduce inflammation and support the immune system. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions have a detoxification effect on the body. Skin is the largest organ and toxins in your body show up as blemishes and discolorations. HbOT can help to remove these toxins from the system. As we age, our body begins to slow down. At the cellular level, each time a cell replicates its ‘tail’ gets shorter. Eventually the tail reduces to nothing and the cell can replicate no further. These cells become dormant, or ‘senescent’.

Recent research in Israel has shown the effects a course of HbOT has on these two important markers of ageing. They found that after therapy, the telomeres in the people in the trial had lengthened significantly. At the same time, the number of senescent cells had dramatically reduced. In this study, for the first time in humans, it was found that repeated daily HbOT sessions could increase telomere length by more than 20% in an ageing population, with B cells having the most striking change. In addition, HbOT decreased the number of senescent cells by 10-37%, with T helper senescent cells being the most effected. The therapy also offers alternative treatment for people with a wide range of afflictions.
