Turkey drops its threat to block Sweden and Finland's accession into NATO after the three countries reach a breakthrough agreement.

Turkey has agreed to support Finland's and Sweden's bids for NATO membership, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has confirmed.

"I am pleased to announce that we now have an agreement that paves the way for Finland and Sweden to join NATO," Mr Stoltenberg told reporters.. Sweden and Finland, both historically non-aligned countries, made the decision to join NATO following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Another issue Turkey had was over the extraditions of Kurdish figures who had sought asylum in Finland and Sweden.
