The company tells employees it will close access to its offices after staff say security began kicking them out.

abc.net.au/news/twitter-employees-locked-out-musk-ultimatum/101670710Hundreds of Twitter employees are estimated to be leaving the beleaguered social media company after an ultimatum from new owner Elon Musk that staffers sign up for "long hours at high intensity" or leave.

A quarter on the poll said they had chosen to stay, "reluctantly", and only 7 per cent of the poll participants said they "clicked yes to stay, I'm hardcore." Mr Musk was meeting some top employees to try to convince them to stay, said one current staffer, as well as a recently departed employee who was in touch with Twitter colleagues.

And, in a private Slack group for Twitter's current and former employees, about 360 people had joined a new channel titled "voluntary-layoff", according to a person with knowledge of the Slack group.
