Two apartment developments in Plano are closer to becoming reality after the city council approved applications for affordable housing development tax credits for the proposed developments.Action taken during the city council’sallows applications for a 9% tax credit to move forward, but does not represent a development permit or final approval, according to city documents.

One of the proposed projects is for the Mariposa Apartment Homes at Plano Parkway, which would total 200 units. The project would be located on about seven acres at the northwest corner of Plano Parkway and Dallas Parkway. The development would include 128 units set aside for households at or below 60% of the area’s median income. The remaining units would have no income restrictions.The other project is the proposed Juniper Apartments development. Plans call for approximately 164 units on 6.
