NEW YORK -- Two airport workers were killed Monday when they became trapped under construction rubble at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, officials said.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department responded to the scene just past 11 a.m. on Monday, with assistance from the Fire Department of New York City and Emergency Medical Services . The workers became trapped in a trench near JFK Airport’s Terminal 7, where 60 FDNY firefighters worked to remove them, an FDNY spokesperson said, according to. Both workers were pronounced dead at the scene, and their names have not been released, pending notification of their families, officials said.PAPD“The Port Authority is conducting a thorough investigation and will be cooperating with all other investigative agencies,” PAPD said in the release.
New York Gov.
