Two men with their faces covered and armed with knives have allegedly threatened staff at a North Belfast takeaway premises.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the report of an 'armed robbery' on the Ballysillan Road at 10.20pm on Tuesday night, May 2.Read more: Lurgan mum having to sofa surf after 'sectarian attack on her home' PSNI Inspector Adams said: “We received a report that two men entered the shop with their faces covered and they were armed with knives. The pair threatened staff and demanded cash from the till.“A short time later two 19-year-old men were arrested from the Sunningdale Gardens area on suspicion of a number of offences including robbery, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and assault on police. Both remain in custody at this time.
“Our enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time the incident took place or who may have captured mobile or CCTV footage that can assist us to contact 101 quoting reference number 2352 02/05/23.” A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport.
