A crime scene has been set up in northern New South Wales after two men were found dead inside caravans overnight.

Police were called to a caravan park on Chinderah Bay Drive at about 12.30am on Thursday after being informed a person was"unresponsive".

"On arrival, officers attached to Tweed/Bryon Police District located a body inside a caravan, before locating another body inside a neighbouring caravan a short time later."
