A homicide investigation is underway after two people were found shot dead in Auckland on Friday afternoon.
Heavily armed police arrested a man on nearby Taikata Rd in Te Atatū Peninsula at about 4:30pm.
According to the New Zealand Herald officers have also detained several other people at the scene and are currently speaking to them. “Police have taken a man into custody following a firearms incident in Glendene earlier this afternoon,” Detective Inspector John Sutton said in a statement. “A homicide investigation is now underway after two people were located deceased at a Barrys Rd address.Two people have died after reports of gunfire in West Auckland on Friday afternoon.
Police are on the hunt for a person after reports a gun was fired on Barry's Road in Glendene at around 3:30pm on Friday afternoon.
