Up to 10,000 members of Japan's Self-Defense Forces have been deployed to assist after heavy rains triggered floods and the evacuation of thousands of people.
At least two people are feared dead and 13 others are missing in western Japan as record heavy rain triggered massive floods and landslides, forcing authorities to issue evacuation orders for more than 76,000 residents.
