Two Grand Junction police officers are on leave after injuring a man in a shooting. The sheriff’s office didn't answer several questions about the shooting, including what made the officers shoot, whether the man had a weapon or what injuries he sustained.

Two Grand Junction police officers are on leave after a Tuesday shooting in which a man was injured.

The officers responded to a domestic violence complaint at Red Roof Inn about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when they came into contact with a man who ran away from them, according to a news release from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.The man was then taken to the hospital by ambulance, but the news release stated the status of his injuries is unknown.

The sheriff’s office did not answer several questions about the shooting, including what made the officers shoot at the man, whether the man had a weapon on him or exactly what injuries he sustained.The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office is leading this investigation.
