Two cars travelling in opposite directions, each with four occupants, crashed near Airlie Beach on Sunday afternoon, killing two people and injuring the remaining six.
Two women were killed and six people injured in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday between Airlie Beach and Proserpine in the Whitsundays .Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating the crash, while the six survivors have been taken to hospital.
Police said two vehicles, each carrying four occupants, collided along Shute Harbour Road in Mount Marlow on Sunday afternoon. Queensland Ambulance said a rescue helicopter was deployed, with one patient airlifted to Mackay Hospital and another to Townsville University Hospital.
