Two men, including one who removed his GPS tracker in recent days, have been arrested.
Two men have been arrested after an overnight siege that forced a Gold Coast neighbourhood into lockdown.
Detective Acting Superintendent Chris Ahearn earlier said police had been negotiating with the men, reportedly holed up in a Nerang duplex.“This is all [happening] at a residence in Rimu Place at Nerang there. We believe that some associates of theirs live at that property,” he said.“The two people who we’re interested in are wanted on some warrants, and we’re attempting to take them into custody in accordance with those warrants,” he said.
It is believed police want to speak to the men in relation to two shootings on the Gold Coast - one at the Arundel police beat, and another at Coolangatta.“Whether or not they have involvement in those two matters ... is yet to be determined,” he said.
