Two men wanted over a fatal shooting outside a boxing event in Kensington last Friday night have been arrested in Sydney
The two fugitives were believed to be hiding out in an apartment in Bankstown when members of the Tactical Operations Unit arrived at the apartment block and a dramatic arrest unfolded.
Homicide detectives had earlier released the names of three suspects wanted over the shootings, including brothers Abdullah and Ali El Nasher from Brunswick and associate Mikhael Myko, from Pascoe Vale. Three men were shot outside the Kensington venue, including Craigieburn father Ben Togiai, 30, who died at the scene. Mr Togiai, the father of a three-year-old daughter, who has no serious criminal history, is understood to have been standing with the intended targets of the attack but was not personally involved in the dispute.
Corporate clients had paid up to $5000 for front-row tables, where they mingled with prominent underworld figures including Mick Gatto, Toby Mitchell and members of the Haddara clan. The wounding of a man at a western suburbs mechanic workshop has also been linked to the feuding gangs.
