The men were rushed to hospital but died from critical injuries on the Sunshine Coast.

Two men helping with repairs for a broken down bus on the Sunshine Coast have died after being struck by a vehicle.

Police believe a 25-year-old Currimundi man and 22-year-old Baringa man were helping with repairs on the side of Nambour Connection Road at Woombye when a vehicle travelling west has struck them about 3.30pm on Thursday.Both men suffered critical injuries and were rushed to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where they later died.

A 43-year-old Warana woman, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was not physically injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.The Forensic Crash Unit and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.Save
