Two high-profile activists who rallied with Moira Deeming on the steps of state parliament have until Tuesday to file proceedings against the Liberal leader.

Two high-profile activists are expected to launch court action against John Pesutto within days, putting the Liberal leader under renewed pressure.that Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull and Angie Jones had until March 19 to launch proceedings, which coincides with parliament returning on Tuesday.

While the majority of Liberal MPs generally agree Pesutto will face a challenge this year due to his diminished support, no other contender is thought to have the numbers to challenge him.Tourism spokesman Sam Groth, police spokesman Brad Battin and shadow treasurer Brad Rowswell have been named by colleagues as possible leadership contenders.

With Pesutto facing the potential of more costly and public legal fights, some Liberal MPs suggested that one option presented to Pesutto was for him to voluntarily stand aside as leader during the legal battles, in the hope that it would offer him a way to return to the leadership in the future.The Opposition Leader last week toldhe had done everything within his power to resolve a longstanding dispute with exiled colleague Moira Deeming.
