New Zealand announces two new cases of coronavirus, both in the community and linked to the Auckland August cluster

Two new cases of coronavirus were announced on Sunday, both in the community and linked to the Auckland August cluster.

Contact tracing is under way, including of staff and patients at the Tokoroa medical centre, director of public health Dr Caroline McElnay said during the 1pm coronavirus briefing.The case, who lives alone and has no household contacts, has been in isolation since August 27. She said 2475 contacts of cases were self-isolating and 138 people were now in Auckland quarantine facility JetPark hotel due to their connection to the cluster.Two were considered to have recovered today.Yesterday, 10,487 tests were run and the total is now 750,808 tests.

There is only one case that is not connected to this cluster; a maintenance worker at the Rydges Hotel managed isolation facility in Auckland, who tested positive on August 16.
