Morgan Stanley’s annual class of managing directors included two Australians.

Morgan Stanley’s 2022 class of managing directors across the world announced on January 18 included two familiar Australian names.

The investment bank’s chief operating officer down under, Rebecca Hill, moved up to the MD after nearly four years with the company. Hill is also the Asia Pacific head for Morgan Stanley’s Shareworks, a division that sells workplace equity compensation solutions for start-ups, corporations and public clients.

Morgan Stanley was a return to investment banking for Hill, who had been a vice president at JPMorgan but went off to work with corporates. This included a six-year stint at engineering giant UGL, where she ended as the executive general manager of corporate development and investor relations. The other Australian who moved up to managing director this year was Rowan Bailey, who’s headed healthcare coverage for the investment banking division.
