Two options are being examined to extend the $1.4 billion Brisbane Metro rapid bus network to the airport ahead of the 2032 Olympics.

Schrinner said the blue CityGlider – which runs between the river connection between West End and St Lucia and New Farm – was one of the city’s most popular bus routes. Schrinner said he did not see major problems with using Brisbane Metro vehicles inside the Airport Link tunnel. The plans are expected to coincide with possible changes to the use of the Airtrain, which provides a direct link between Brisbane’s Central Station and the airport via an elevated link.
