Three people are confirmed dead with dozens injured as two trains collided on Wednesday in the Czech Republic.

Two passenger trains collided in the southwest of the Czech Republic on Wednesday, killing at least three people and injuring dozens more.A local train collided with an international high-speed trainPolice said the crash occurred shortly after 8:00am in the town of Milavce.

Czech Railways said a local passenger train and an international high-speed train that connects the western Czech city of Plzen with Munich in Germany were involved in the collision.The Western Express Train collided with a passenger train near the village of Milavce between the stations Domazlice and Blizejov, in the Czech Republic.

Dozens of people were also injured, five of them seriously, the Fire Rescue Service of the Plzen region said in a statement.The regional rescue service said a total of 52 people needed treatment.Pictures from the site showed a badly damaged front part of the high-speed train's engine.He said the driver of the high-speed train had failed to stop at a designated location.
