Two people were trapped after a semi-trailer truck and two cars collided at an intersection in Sydney’s southwest. Police were called to the Great Western Hwy and Jersey Rd intersection in Wentworthville after the crash occurred about 11.30pm on Monday. A 24-year-old man, who was a passenger in a Toyota hatch involved in the crash, was trapped for a significant amount of time before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW. He was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
A 21-year-old woman driving the Toyota was also trapped following the collision, but was rescued a short time later and taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
