The two restaurants were based on different floors of the same building in Southport
Two Southport restaurants have confirmed they are closing for good in identical posts on social media.
Both The Firepit and the Potting Shed, were both based the same building, but on different floors, on Lord Street and proved popular amongst locals. Both boasted a four-star rating on TripAdvisor. However, despite their popularity, bosses at both The Firepit and the Potting Shed have confirmed they are now permanently closed. They thanked their 'fantastic teams' and the 'brilliant locals' for their support. Both posted the announcements on Facebook on Monday October 3, the ECHO reports.
Meanwhile, the post on the Potting Shed's page read: "Potters, we are now closed permanently. We would just like to give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us during our time in Southport from the fantastic team to the brilliant locals." Regulars have been speaking of their sadness at the demise of two restaurants on the same day. Kirsty McPherson said of the Potting Shed closure: "Sad to see you close we loved popping in with our wee dog Max, that's one less dog-friendly pub."
