Two Russians fleeing military service sailed over 300 miles across the Bering sea to seek asylum on a tiny Alaskan island have sought asylum in the US after landing a small boat off the coast of Alaska.
They revealed one of the two men, who remain unnamed, spoke some English, while the other appeared to be of the Siberian Yupik ethnicity. They were processed in accordance with US immigration laws, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security later confirmed. Alaskan senators Lisa Murkowski, and Dan Sullivan, said the incident shows Russians do not want to fight for Putin
