Emergency crews respond to a serious crash on the Sturt Highway, which was closed earlier today for another collision which critically injured two people.

Emergency crews have responded to a serious crash at the intersection of the Sturt Highway and the Old Sturt Highway in South Australia's Riverland.They say the intersection will be closed for some time and diversions are in place.

A 37-year-old man from the Adelaide suburb of Northfield and a 48-year-old Mildura woman were initially treated at the Renmark Paringa District Hospital before being airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.For most of the day, SA Ambulance Service's internet network was down, affecting non-critical electronic communications at the agency.
