The U.S. Air Force has suspended two commanders from the National Guard unit where accused classified intelligence leaker Jack Teixeira served, a USAF spokesman said on Wednesday.
Teixeira, 21, was arrested by the FBI on April 13 at his home in Massachusetts and charged with violating the Espionage Act. Prosecutors say heHe was ordered detained pending a trial during a hearing on April 19.
"This means that both the squadron's state Air National Guard operational commander and current federal orders administrative commander have been suspended pending completion of the Department of the Air Force Inspector General Investigation," the spokesman said.
