'We were more than happy to offer our finest taxi'
Officers said the females phoned the emergency number for a lift 'as they didn't have any money on them and mum would not pick them up'. Both were found to be wanted on suspicion of criminal damage, police said.

Officers said they were 'more than happy to offer their finest taxi'.In a post on the GMP City Centre Facebook page this morning, police said: "TAXI - 999 call from 2 females wanting a lift home, as they didn't have any money & mum wouldn't pick them up. "We were more than happy to offer our finest taxi, free of charge, as it turned out they were both wanted for criminal damage, both taken into police custody."
