Two Indiana laws prohibiting certain abortions and requiring minors to have permission for an abortion will now be enforced after U.S. court rulings.

“There is something particularly repugnant about discriminating against a child because of his or her race, sex or disability,” Rokita said in a news release. “To choose to end a child’s life on that basis while he or she is still in the womb is especially tragic. Hoosiers can be grateful that Indiana is now free to enforce a law rooted in common sense, compassion and justice.”Senate Enrolled Act 404, the abortion permission law, was originally signed into law by Gov. Eric Holcomb in 2017.
