Senate Foreign Relations Chair Robert Menendez discussed Ukraine on the Sunday talk shows.
Ukraine, Senate Foreign Relations Chair Robert Menendez said he would support the American assistance needed to repel the unprovoked Russian invasion.
Menendez’s strong support for Ukraine came as a congressional delegation led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made an unannounced trip to Kyiv and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It was the first congressional trip to Ukraine since the Russian invasion. The U.S. previously sent $13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine and Biden said Thursday that the additional assistance would come “at a very pivotal moment” as Russia has redeployed its forces after failing to capture the capital of Kyiv and overthrown Ukraine’s government.
“This is a test for the West — whether or not we will allow a country, in this case Russia led by Putin — to ultimately violate the international order and erase the boundaries of a country by force,” Menendez said on Fox.
