Rep. Joyce is too busy or not interested in explaining his reasoning to defund the IRS
Congress voted on Jan. 9, 2023 to defund the IRS. How frequently do we hear of corporations or millionaires not paying their fair. We hear of budget deficits. Seems to me that we need more enforcement of tax regulations. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to call the IRS and have someone answer the phone? Shouldn’t we all pay our fair share to support our country.
My U.S. Rep. John Joyce supported the vote to defund the IRS. I wanted to understand what his reasoning was for his vote. As I stated, seems to me it would help with our deficit. However, Rep. Joyce may have insights I don’t. I contacted him via his Congressional website after the vote. I received a reply that he had received my message and would reply.
As of Feb. 15, 2023 I hadn’t received a reply. I called his office in Washington D.C. I spoke with one of his staff, Nick. He instructed me to sent my question to his email and he would get it to Rep. Joyce. As of 3/24/23 I haven’t received any reply. This is emblematic of our legislators. They claim to represent us, the commoner. I can call their office for help! Rep. Joyce is to busy or not interested in explaining his reasoning to defund the IRS. I’m paying his salary, his expenses, etc. Seems like a reasonable request. Why take the job if your not willing to do your job Rep.
