LOS ANGELES — UCLA’s Jake Kyman is entering the transfer portal after playing in 80 games over three seasons for the Bruins.
The 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Santa Margarita High averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds during his career. This season, he averaged 2.4 points and 1.0 rebounds in 23 games.The junior contributed in a reserve role, but playing time figures to be hard to come by next season with the arrival of three highly touted freshmen.
“I just want to thank everyone at UCLA who has helped make the last three years an amazing experience,” Kyman said. “I want to first thank my coaches, the staff, and my teammates for the unforgettable memories, the countless laughs, the knowledge, and the relationships that I have built and will keep with me forever.
“I have never been more proud to say I fulfilled my childhood dream of playing for those legendary four letters. I’ll always be a Bruin for life! With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal and look forward to the next chapter.”Kyman scored at least 20 points in three games as a freshman and went 31 for 77 from 3-point range that season. Kyman shot 41.1% overall and 36.3% from 3-point range and 72.2% at the free-throw line in his Bruins career.
