Returning to UH for his senior season helped Marcus Sasser improve his NBA draft stock, and he wound up a first-round selection Thursday night.University of Houston All-America guard Marcus Sasser was selected with the No. 25 pick in Thursday’s NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, who will trade his rights to the Detroit Pistons.
With Jarace Walker taken eighth by the Washington Wizards , Sasser gave UH two first-round picks for the first time since 1984, when Hakeem Olajuwon and Michael Young were selected.
