BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Houston All-American guard Marcus Sasser, who has been nursing a groin injury, was in the starting lineup for Thursday’s NCAA Tournament opener against Northern Kentucky.
Sasser injured his groin Saturday at the American Athletic Conference tournament, and his status had been questionable for the Cougars’ tournament opener.. He’s the first Cougar to receive the honor since Hakeem Olajuwon was a consensus pick in 1984.
