UIW wins highest-scoring game in FCS playoff history, reaching semifinals for first time

In a game with a combined 1,317 yards of offense, Scott threw four touchdown passes to set a new FCS single-season record with 59. He completed 19 of 31 attempts for 219 yards, adding 166 rushing yards and two scores on 19 carries. Sacramento State racked up 738 yards and never punted on 16 possessions, but UIW’s defense forced two fumbles and snared two interceptions.
Less than five minutes later, the Cardinals were down 48-45, as the Hornets scored a 19-yard touchdown on a double pass, recovered a surprise onside kick, and reached the end zone again on a 14-yard connection from Dunniway to Martin.
