The media in Britain has been desperate to portray the heatwave over there this week as the end of the world, Sky News contributor Caleb Bond says.
“Over on Good Morning Britain they were trying to tell people there would be thousands of deaths caused by the hot weather,” Mr Bond said.
“The same line was being peddled on GB News by meteorologist John Hammond – 40 degrees is frightening, he says. “Uncomfortable, sure – but we have 40-degree heat in Australia all the time and we don’t run around worrying about deaths by the bucket load. “Every time we see these lies we have to call them out. Again and again, people are being scared and our lives are being upended on the basis of blatant untruths.”
