The UK’s Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into parties held at Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s residence during lockdown.
Commissioner Cressida Dick says they are looking into potential breaches at several other events at Downing Street and Whitehall. The investigation commenced after information was provided to police through a separate probe being conducted by the Cabinet Office. Sue Gray is expected to hand down a report into the parties at Number 10 this week but it may be delayed until after the police investigation.
Mr Johnson – who is under pressure to resign following the events – says he is willing to be interviewed by police.
