Ukraine's ambassador says a documentary aired by the ABC uncritically repeated Russian propaganda and he will seek an explanation from the national broadcaster about why it was aired.
Ukraine's ambassador has accused the ABC of airing a documentary that uncritically repeated Russian propaganda.
The program titled The Other Side was produced for Britain's ITV and was broadcast locally by the ABC's flagship current affairs program Four Corners. "It unquestioningly repeated and aired countless blatant lies, historical distortions, racist claims and propaganda narratives emanating from the Kremlin. Inasmuch, it completely served the interests of Russia's dictator, Putin," Mr Myroshnychenko said.
Communications Minister Michelle Rowland said the ABC had "operational and editorial independence", and questions or concerns about editorial content should be directed to the public broadcaster.
