Ukraine has thanked Australia for offering it an additional $100 million in military aid that brings the nation’s total military support for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression to $827 million. Speaking alongside Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles in Lviv on Saturday night, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said he was “very pleased” to welcome Marles to the city and expressed his “heartfelt thanks” to Australia for its clear position on Ukraine sovereignty.

“It is about humanitarian financial aid sanction support and the possibility to import Ukraine commodities duty free and also extension of aid until the summer of 2026.” Shmyhal also said Australian Bushmaster vehicles and the M113 had proven “excellent” in the battlefield. “Also, Australia provides demining equipment, equipment for 3D printing which helps repair military equipment, also anti-drone technologies, artillery and munition,” he said.
