More than 100 people attend a demonstration Sunday at the Alamo to support Ukraine in its fight to retain its independence from Russia. As world leaders, countries and organizations condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, San Antonio-area Ukrainians and demonstrators added their voices to the global dissent Sunday at Alamo Plaza.
That Ukrainian soldier’s words were written on one demonstrator’s sign, along with other signs that read “Putin get out of Ukraine” and “Save Children Stop War.”One sign asked the U.S. Treasury Department to add Russia’s central bank to the Office of Foreign Asset’s specially designated national’s list, which would block its assets and prohibit people in the U.S. from dealing with them.
Demonstrators are also hoping that humanitarian organizations will figure out how to get aid to the many wounded Ukranians.
