Green Party representative Brian Smyth says a fire alarm at Kingspan Stadium blared for almost two hours on Sunday night

A Belfast councillor has hit out at Ulster Rugby after a fire alarm at Kingspan Stadium blared for almost two hours on Sunday night.

Lisnasharragh representative Smyth told Belfast Live: "This has happened a couple of times. The last time it went off for over two-and-a-half hours. Last night it was about 90 minutes. "But with this, there needs to be better action from Ulster Rugby, and better communication with residents. Ulster Rugby play a massive role in the community and there is a lot of positive work they do, but with something like this they need to be better.

He said: "There was a lot of anger, to be honest. If the fire alarm goes off and someone can get there within 30-40 minutes, I think residents can live with that. But the fact that it was 90 minutes last night, and it's the second time it's happened, I think people are getting fed up and frustrated.
