The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup begins this Friday when Australia take on India at the Sydney Showground from 6.30pm AEDT.
For our Aussie superstars, it's a special year, marked by the first edition of the Women's T20 World Cup being hosted by Australia. The Southern Stars will fancy their chances not only because they're ranked No.1 in the world T20 rankings, but because they've won four of the six World T20 tournaments to be staged thus far.
Led by skipper Meg Lanning, the host nation boasts a stacked outfit featuring the game's best all-rounder Ellyse Perry, bowling sensation Megan Schutt, and 2018's ICC T20 International player of the year, Alyssa Healy. The final, which takes place on March 8 , will attempt to break a world record for the highest attendance at a women's sporting event at the MCG, an iconic Australian venue that can seat over 100,000 spectators.
