Mr Bidwell said home owners should be protected financially by the statutory home warranty insurance scheme, and would be covered for up to $200,000. "When the contract is signed, the insurance premium is paid by the builder and ultimately by the home owner," he told ABC Radio Brisbane."And that covers them in the event that the builder goes broke, which has happened in this case.
