Victorian Powerball ticket holders in Thursday night's $100 million draw are being urged to check their numbers as a 10-person syndicate celebrates their half of the major prize pool.
Two tickets from New South Wales and Victoria are set to split the equal biggest Aussie jackpot this year, only six weeks after one lucky winner claimed a full $100 million.
Officials revealed a ticket belonging to a 10-person syndicate had struck gold after entering the draw at their Rosebery North News agency in Sydney."Holy s***. Are you serious? I've won $5 million?" he said, according to the Lott."I'm in shock. You've changed my life." He said he'd buy a house and look after both his brother and sister with his share of the prize pool."It's unbelievable. My wife is crying," he said.The Sydney syndicate reportedly won division one, as well as division two 19 times which bolstered their total prize pool to $50,776,737.10.
The Victorian winner bought their ticket online but failed to fill out all their contact details so officials have been unable to reach them about their win.Up to half of all Australian adults took a punt and were in Thursday night's draw, with 3942 tickets sold in one minute at lunch time.
