Blanc, known as the 'Man of a Thousand Voices,' remained in a coma for two weeks, unresponsive. Remarkably, when he finally regained consciousness, he greeted doctors with his signature voice, saying, 'Eh, just fine, Doc.
How are you?' Even while in a full-body cast, Blanc continued to voice Barney Rubble in several episodes of 'The Flintstones.' Upon returning home from the hospital, Blanc sued the city over the crash, highlighting the intersection's dangerous reputation as the site of 26 accidents in the preceding two years. Though the road was eventually restructured, the location became infamous, inspiring the 1964 song 'Dead Man's Curve' by Jan and Dean.Meanwhile, on January 24, 1974, Gnassingbé Eyadéma, the president of Togo, miraculously survived a plane crash in a remote area. Eyadéma claimed that the crash was the result of sabotage by French imperialists and attributed his survival to his superhuman strength.
