Industrial Relations Minister Christian Porter and ACTU Secretary Sally McManus were locked in negotiations on Monday over the finer details over the bill, which would amend the Fair Work Act.
Mr Cormann told Sky News the changes werre set to put a “safeguard” in place to ensure there was no “opportunity to abuse the system”. “The principle is that we do want to ensure that we have the right balance,” he said. "This is about getting the money in people’s pockets, into workers pockets, in a way that doesn’t put business in breach of industrial relations laws. “We do want to ensure the right safeguards are in there and there is not going to be an opportunity to abuse the system.
