University of North Carolina 'Official Visit' - Kenan Stadium, Sup Dogs, and the best places to eat and drink
is a series that explores the best places to eat, drink and congregate at college football locales across the country. In Year 1, we visited five campuses. My colleague Max Olson and I traveled to five different college campuses with one mission: give people a guide of what to do when going to games this fall. The place to eat? We found it. The place to drink? We tried it. Campus traditions? We lived them. That’s what separates college athletics from pro sports.
With a capacity of 50,000, it provides an intimate — yet intense — atmosphere for big games. Surrounded by trees and underneath a Carolina Blue water tower, Kenan offers one of the more picturesque settings in the sport. North Carolina’s football facilities, attached to the stadium, are some of the best in the country. And that’s specifically highlighted in the Air Jordan room, where Max and I were able to sit down with quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidateSup Dogs has mastered the hot dog.
